NailCheck AI ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Sign-In (Google or Apple): When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address (and, for Google, your profile picture). This is used solely for account identification.
• Guest Mode: You may use the app without signing in. In this case, no account information is collected.

Nail Photos and Third-Party AI Processing

• What data is sent: The nail photo you take or select is transmitted for analysis.
• Who it is sent to: The photo is sent to Google (Google Vertex AI / Gemini), a third-party AI service, solely to generate your analysis result.
• Consent: Before your first analysis, the app asks for your explicit permission to send the photo to this third-party AI service. Analysis does not proceed without your consent.
• Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers. We do not retain, share, or sell your photos.
• Google processes this data under Google's own privacy policy, which provides protections equivalent to those described here.

Scan Results

• If you are signed in, scan results (diagnosis type, confidence score, recommendations, and timestamp) are stored in Firebase Firestore under your user account.
• If you are a guest, scan results are stored locally on your device only.

Usage Data

• We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., screen views, feature usage). This data does not identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide nail health analysis results
• To maintain your scan history
• To manage your free/premium scan limits
• To improve the app experience through anonymous analytics

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, and analytics
• Google Gemini AI: Nail photo analysis
• Google Play Billing: Premium subscription management

4. Data Security

• All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.
• Firebase security rules ensure users can only access their own data.
• No cleartext traffic is permitted by the app.
• We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Google Sign-In.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• You can delete your scan history from within the app at any time.
• Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app via Profile menu → Delete Account. This removes your Firebase authentication account and your stored data.
• You may also request deletion by contacting us at preclaudebgc@gmail.com.
• Guest data is stored only on your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app.

6. Children's Privacy

NailCheck AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics (by not signing in)
• Use the app without creating an account

8. Medical Disclaimer

NailCheck AI is a preliminary screening tool and does not provide medical diagnoses. Results should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified dermatologist.
